Is biking considered a great weight loss excercise?

Is biking a good excercise for a guy my size to want to lose 28 lbs. in the next month, provided I eat the right healthy foods. brastasi said: "Hi Rangel Great to have you aboard! Cycling is great. I have a road bike. You can burn 700 calories easy on a bike, and gets great on your knees as well. I did not watch what I ate, but two summers ago, I was biking 15 to 20 miles every other day. I did not lose weight because it takes a lot of energy to keep up with other people you are biking with. My arms toned up as well as my legs, not to mention the strength in my legs. I have started back to cycling. Can't wait til the weather warms up! Mix in the bike riding with running or jogging or something else. Good luck to ya! Oh yea, I'm Brastasi :D"

pixiechic said: "biking is an excellent way to get fit. good foods to eat? stuff like chicken, tuna, fish, salads, fruits, and vegetables. avoid anything deep fried like chips and fries. regular soda pop is very detrimental to most diets, as well. keep us posted on your progress!"
