Heather said: "I know this is going to sound like a broken record, but losing weight takes some time and hard work.
Maybe instead of focusing on the weight, try to think of all the other benefits that your body gets from proper diet and exercise.
Maybe you should try seeing the *you* in the mirror that isn't 6 months pregnant. Try looking for the beautiful woman that is waiting to get out!
I hope this helps you in some little way.
Just keep going!"

You have to remember that a lot of little "measly" successes will eventually add up to one great big success. Kind of like filling a bathtub with a cup...you won't see a difference from one cupful to the next, but after 10 cups, you see the water go up.
Do you have any of your old clothes from when you were at your heaviest? You can put those on and just see how far you've come. Because you've come a long way already and you're almost halfway there!! You can do it! Just think about how much healthier you'll be and how great you'll feel."

That is a wonderful analogy.
And you are so right, sometimes it can be really frustrating to see those small results, but it is true after two or three months of small results you'll realize OMG you are getting slim!"
Cadence said: "This week, I've been crying a whole lot. I feel fatter than ever. And I feel like I'm staring at a mountain that will NOT move. I get these measly little results that are just enough to tease me. And I work out so hard, and so faithfully, and have been watching what I eat. But I feel like I'm forever going to have a body that makes me cry. I looked in the mirror tonight saw a body that STILL looked six months pregnant.
I know I know...I've got to be patient, and count the small successes. I don't want to just give up. I'm just afraid of giving this all that I've got, and in the end failing to make the difference I want to make.
I just need a shoulder to cry on...to get it all out, and be able to find it in me...the courage to finish. :("
Cadence said: "Thanks guys for the support, and reality reminder. Today, is infact, a much better day for me. I did go and find some old clothes...ones I couldn't fit into since before I had my baby, and one of my favourite tops fit. Also, I was finally able to put my wedding rings on. I haven't been able to wear them in ages. I also made an appointment with the doctor for this week...hopefully I can fine tune a few things with my weight loss. I was just in an emotional rut. I've been fighting through this the past few weeks, and even though I've hit my lows...I've actually kept going...and working even harder. This forum continues to serve as a wonderful place for support. Thanks again."

Try to be patient. Don't set unrealistic expectations either. I've had four babies (two were 9 lbs and two were 10 lbs). I know that my baby pooch will never go away completly. It's just a fact. The stomach muscles get stretced out as well as the skin and they just kinda hang there looking like fat when in fact it's not. The only option to get rid of that is to to have a tummy tuck. My sister did that and I can tell you, after seeing what she went through, I'd rather deal with my baby pooch.
Anyway, most likely we don't have supermodel bodies underneath our fat. Just hang in there and try to remember all of the other benefits you're getting from diet and exercise as well.
Best wishes...my shoulder is here for you to cry on if you need too.
Shannon"

I'll just echo what the others have said, and add this: You didn't gain the weight overnight... so you can't expect to lose it overnight...
You said it yourself, you have to have patience... the human body is a complex machine... you just have to continue doing what you're doing, fighting the good fight, let your body catch up and realize what it is you're doing, and it will let go of the weight.
What does your diet look like? Maybe we can spot something that you could add/delete that could help... what are your workouts like? Are you on any medications? There are an abundance of things that can be stalling you.
What has your progress been so far? I see you've lost 20 pounds, are you losing 1-2 pounds per week?
