If you are not burning them, they get converted into sugar and then stored as fat. You need to do some cardiovascular exercise. 30-45 minutes a day will help a lot. Strength train to build muscle mass. The more muscle mass you have, the more you burn. You can increase your metabolism by 2000% by increasing muscle mass and cardio exercises. Good Luck!"

unfortunantly i have major thyroid problems, but i am fighting it 24/7 and i have lost 18.7lbs since dec 13
what i find that boosts my metabolism is eating every 2.5 hours very small meals, i eat celery at each meal as it is my fav veggie and i also eat 1 or 2 peices of fruit at each meal.
try my method for a few days and see if you feel better energy levels.
i am like a duracell battery now LOL"

But it came back fine, so that wasn't it. **RATZ**
If you really do think that you have metabolism or thyroid problems, there are tests that can be run to check."

if you think it could be related to hormones (like a thyroid or pituitary problem), you might want to get tested by a doctor. sometimes you can have a specific diet of medication that will help you. otherwise, do some strength training. increased muscle mass permanently (well, as long as you maintain the muscle) increases your metabolism. any sort of cardio work will increase your metabolism for the next 24-48 hours."
