But it hit me about a week ago how bad it's gotten, and I realized that I obsess about my weight at least 2 hours a day altogether. I could probably spend half that time to start losing the weight!!! My goal weight is 125 pounds, which is healthy for my frame. So I need to lose 80 pounds. I love to cook, but I'm not sure what things I need to completely steer clear of, what to eat in moderation and what I can chow down on anytime I like. I am incorporationg exercise into my daily routine, and I've started with callenetics, light cardio/stretching. Does anyone have any suggesstions about what my diet should consist of daily and how many calories I can consume and lose weight quickly(but sensibly). I refuse to deal with any diet pills, so please don't bother suggesting them, they are unsafe and I want to do this on my own. I really appreciate any positive suggestions, and am here for support if anyone needs to talk or vent!!! Thanks"

It's quiet at my house, so it's still kind of relaxing. I have been thinking about joining a swim club though. As much as I don't want to be seen in a bathing suit, I know that swimming is great exercise. Besides, it's not like I'd be the only one there out of shape!!! thanks for your reply!"

Hi there! Welcome to the forum :)
Don't worry about being in a bathing suit! I mean this sincerely. I go to our local rec facility and there are people of all shapes and sizes swimming or participating in water aerobics. Have you considered doing that type of class? It's a fun way to get a workout program started. You use the resistance of the water to work out. They have floatie hand weights to work out your arms.
I wish for your success!"

Just getting started is putting your foot in the right direction. If you are trying to get to 125 pounds, your daily caloric intake should be around 1,250.
A diet rich with fruits, veggies and lean meats along with a bit of exercise every day will help to decrease your weight.
I'm happy you decided to join us!"

Nice to meet you :) It sounds like you have made a decision to get yourself healthy and lose some weight. If you love to cook, maybe a new cookbook might be in order? There are a lot of different ones out there that cater to healthier eating. Browse through them and look for tasty and interesting recipes that you would like to cook.
As for foods to avoid; anything deep fried, high in sugar, or has very little nutritional benefits like soda, potato chips, cookies. (All the stuff that got us here in the first place :) )
Don't get discouraged, it might take a minute or two to see results. But it will all be worth it when you do.
Are you going to the gym or working out at home?"

Think of a physical activity you might like and start on it."

Good luck. :)"
