Greetings,
Continuing our discussion about how hard it is to lose weight, thanks to the type of jobs we have, for now, lets continue to focus on work at home jobs.

One of the things that happen when you telecommute is that you may not get dressed the way you would if you had a typical office job. All those who are guilty, raise their hand, (my hand is raised as well). When I worked in an office, I got up early, carefully planned out an outfit that would show me in my best light, including jewelry, matching handbag and shoes. My clothes were pressed, my hair was nicely arranged and I left the house feeling pretty good about myself. When I began to telecommute, many of those things that were essential to my routine in the morning could wait until later in the day. If I didn’t do my hair first thing, no problem, who was going to see me anyway? So what if I didn’t wear any jewelry, who was going to admire it? My cats? Why should I put on an attractive outfit when it was so much more comfy to don a pair of sweats and my fuzzy pink cat slippers?

In the October issue of Self Magazine, it was pointed out that ending your beauty routine was tantamount to lowering your self esteem. No longer did you worry about being able to close the zipper on your favorite pants, since sweats don’t have zippers. This makes it easy to pack on the pounds and if your sweats get a little tighter, no problem. You can always loosen the string and they stretch anyway. The magazine pointed out that its best to treat your at home job the same way you would treat an out of the home job. Get up and make yourself look great in the morning. It will raise your self esteem and make you more aware of what you’re eating, since you have to worry about that darn zipper again. Today’s affirmation is: I will always do my best to look my best. Say it ten times and mean it. Peace-Rhonda
