Coca-Cola And Nestle Introducing A “Calorie Burning” Beverage Called Enviga
October 12, 2006 – 10:48 amIn efforts to keep America drinking beverages other than water, Coca-Cola and Nestle are introducing a new soft drink called Enviga.

This new drink contains green tea extract and is said to be a “negative calories” and is supposed to help boost metabolism. It has no more caffeine than an average cup of coffee and 20% of the daily value of calcium for men and women ages 19 to 50.
“There’s calorie, low-calorie, zero-calorie, and now we offer consumers negative-calorie products,” said Jason Warner, group marketing director for Beverage Partners Worldwide Americas, which has worked on the brand for the past three-and-a-half years.
The product will be released in a number of demograghic areas including New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia in early November. It will retail for around $1.30 for a 12 ounce can and will be available in Berry, Peach and Green Tea Flavors. National launch is expected early in 2007.
It sounds like an interesting new product, and if nothing else isn’t packed with a ton of calories or sugar, but I’m not sure it will help reduce waistlines if people don’t exercise and make healthy food choices.
What say you? Would you give Enviga a try?
Do you think this is a viable diet aid?

It would be better if they had left out the caffeine. Beverages loaded with caffeine are abundant but unfortunately contribute to dehydration. Pure water is always a healthier choice. Still, I’ll probably try the new drink.
