Get Ready for Cold and Flu Season

The cooler weather has arrived and its time to take precautions against cold and flu viruses. Most people pick them up from their children or at the office. There’s a few simple steps you can take to try to ward it off.
Get a flu shot, so that if you are unlucky enough to come down with it, it won’t be that bad.
Start a vitamin regimen that includes plenty of vitamin C. Make sure it’s the time release version, so it will stay in your system throughout the day.
If your child is old enough, get them a little bottle of hand sanitizer and teach them to use it.
Buy tissues that stop the spread of virus.
Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in your desk drawer at work, your glove compartment and any place else that you frequent. Use it to wipe down your phones at work and to clean your hands throughout the day.
Avoid letting people borrow your pens and desk items. Don’t worry about being insulting by wiping them down when they return them. It’s your health you need to worry about, not their feelings. You might just start a trend at the office.
Don’t rub your eyes and nose, especially at the office or when leaving the store. Touching produce and store items that other’s have already touched, leaves you open to viruses. So does the exchange of money.
Store personnel are notorious for coming into work sick, so if you see a cashier with red eyes and who is coughing and sneezing, avoid that register and complain to the manager.
Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. Dehydration and fatigue is a sure way to wear your body down.
Today’s affirmation is, I will guard my health and that of my family’s. Say it 10 times and mean it. Peace-Rhonda
