Unlock the Door to Your Self Imposed Cage Part II

Earlier I posted an article about releasing yourself from your own self imposed cage and I wanted to expand upon that. We all know what we need to do to better our lives. The problem is getting past the mental and emotional borders in order to achieve this. I’ve been doing a little research on how to go about this daunting task and came up with a few things. One of them is self hypnosis. The way it works is to reprogram your way of thinking and literally talking yourself into doing something. I think one of the things that hold us back is past failures. I’m sure we’ve all taken stabs at trying to achieve something, perhaps made some progress and then slid right back to our old way of doing things. This is partially due to your mind remaining in its preprogrammed state. I also believe that because we have tried to do something, maybe more than once and were not successful, it has caused us to lose confidence in our abilities. We start to take on a “what’s the use” attitude which further prevents us from achieving our goals. By using self hypnosis, we can begin to rearrange our thoughts and become more confident about where we are going. The best part is, is that if we do begin to slip back into our old habits, we can start the process over again and get back on track. There’s an old saying, “free your mind and the rest will follow”. I believe in that statement and hopefully we can begin to take steps to try to do just that. I won’t try to explain how to do it myself, since I don’t want to leave anything out. I suggest reading it into a tape recorder and playing it back to yourself. I would love to hear from people who tried it and I will be trying it out myself. Tonight’s affirmation is I will allow nothing to stop me from achieving my goals. Say it 10 times and mean it. Peace - Rhonda
