10 things you can do to stimulate your mind

It’s easy to get in a rut, especially if we tend towards repetitive actions. Most people are creatures of habit, so it’s simple to bog down in uncreative thinking. How can we shock our own senses a bit, and maybe look at life through new eyes? Here are a few methods I can think of.
1) Read a book. Sure it’s corny advice, but that’s the kind I give
Take a few moments to read a book with thought-provoking ideas. You might say you don’t have time. You should make it because a whole new world may just open up to you.
2) Brainstorm with others. If you’re “stuck” on a problem, you should probably seek out advice from others, and then heed it, once given. People definitely have ideas where you might now.
3) Socially network. Again, depending on what goals you’re trying to achieve, you may just be able to find someone else who sparks the necessary creative ideas to get your mind working again.
4) Go back to school/Take a class. You don’t have to drop a fortune, either. You can always find a “Continuing Adult Education” place and learn a second language, like Spanish or French, that will come in handy when you take your dream vacation.
5) Learn new skills relating to your job. If you decide you want to learn more, you can always decide to translate that desire into cash too. Almost every employer pays more to qualified candidates. As your knowledge levels increase, so will your income.
6) Perhaps your ears can help your mind. Listen to some different music for once. If you spend every Saturday night listening to Depeche Mode, perhaps you can replace it with some Yung Joc, just to get a fresh perspective on things.
7) Travel. Any place that isn’t home is bound to hold some unique treasures. You’re likely to find new experiences to talk about, and you end up learning about different people and cultures (which should probably be a goal for everyone).
Start blogging. It’s a great way to be creative (and you can earn money too). Blogs are an excellent way to communicate with others, and to develop and display mastery of a subject.
9) Try something new every Friday night. On Friday nights, dedicate some time to trying something new, no matter what it might be. Try things that you never would have thought of, and keep an open mind. You might discover a new passion.
10) Do puzzles - Sudoko, crosswords and the like. Doing puzzles can help stimulate your brain quite well. They’re a simple and cheap way to do so.
What ways can you think of to stimulate your mind?

Thanks for that advice. I’m already a bookworm, so I need to get out more and so other things. I used to sew and have a brand new machine in the garage. I think I’ll pick it up again to re-spark that creativity in me.

Dance classes are always fun too.
That would integrate some movement and stimulate your mind at the same time.
It sounds win-win to me
