Every 21 Seconds. America’s Walk for Diabetes.
June 23, 2006 – 5:57 pmDid you know that someone is diagnosed with diabetes every 21 seconds? Diabetes has become one of the nations biggest health problems.
Nearly 21 million adults and children suffer from diabetes and another 41 million are at risk for the condition.
The ADA (American Diabetes Association) is hosting a 6 mile walk to raise money for diabetes research, education and advocacy. Participants in the walk will receive a red bandana to signify the number of lives this disease has touched.
At the time of this writing, the ADA has raised and donated more than 300 million for diabetes research.
