Summer is almost here, Are you ready?

I can’t believe that summer is almost here. 2006 is going by at lightning speed, and swimsuit season is just a few days away.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons to work out, because there are so many different things you can do for exercise. Here’s a list of things you can do to switch up and reinvigorate your workout routine:

  • Swim Swimming is one of the best ways to burn calories and get a tan! If you have hip or knee problems, this is a low impact exercise that doesn’t cause stress on your joints and decreases your chances of injury.
  • Biking Biking is a great way to spend some time with your family in an “active” way. An afternoon on your bikes is refreshing to both your body and your soul. Bike riding is another low impact exercise that doesn’t stress joints.
  • Rollerblading or Rollerskating Be sure that you have the proper protective gear
(kneepads, elbowpads, helmet, and wrist protection) before lacing up and speeding off. This is great to tone and slim your buttocks and thighs.
  • Walking Walking is a great core exercise that can be the core or compliment any workout. Walking is a way of life, so do it frequently! If you want to challenge yourself, consider circuit training with short jogs or sprints.
  • These are just a few ideas to help kick in the summer fitness season.
The added heat will help to burn some extra calories to boot!
