Subway Diet
The Subway Diet was made famous by Jared Fogle. When Jared started his own diet plan, he opted to eat wholesome subs that were offered by the popular restaurant chain, Subway.
Subway offers an extensive selection of Sub sandwiches that are made fresh and to the customers specifications. They offer gourmet bread, hot and cold subs, salads, soup and other healthy food options.
The basis of Jared's diet plan was to eat Subway subs for both lunch and dinner. He did this for a period of one year. For lunch he ate a 6 inch turkey sub and for dinner he would have a 12 inch Veggie Sub.
Along with subs, Jared would also have a bag of Baked (not fried) potato chips and diet soda. Condiments like cheese, mayonaise and other oils and fats were not put on the sandwiches to keep calories under 1000. Fresh vegetables like lettuce, peppers and pickles were used instead. Along with calorie restriction, walking and other forms of exercise helped him to burn fat.
Following this basic diet plan, Mr. Fogle was able to lose almost half of his body weight in a year. It is not recommended for everyone, but helped Jared take off a lot of extra weight without feeling like he was depriving himself like other diet plans might.
