The Northwoods diet was developed as a sensible method to lose weight slowly, but most importantly, to lose unwanted weight for a lifetime.

The Northwoods diet is based on a few basic, easy to follow to rules. It is almost so sensible, it isn't really a diet all, merely a guideline for good nutrition and moderate exercise.

Here is a basic outline of the Northwoods diet.

  • You eat 3 small meals a day. Following portion sizes is very important to assure that you don't overeat.
  • No eating after 7 pm. If you don't consume calories later in the evening, it is less likely they will be metabolised into fat cells.
  • Meals consist of a serving of meat, vegetables and a salad.
  • You walk daily. Adding exercise will help improve your overall well being and burn calories.

So as you see, the Northwood diet is relatively easy to follow and requires only common sense to see how it is effective in successful in reducing your weight.
