I really need to stregthen my arms and the "chicken flab." What are good exercises for this?
this area would be referred to as being your "triceps".. not chickenarms :)
this is the muscle that runs along the back of your upper arm.
tricep presses would be a good exercise to target this spot. there a couple of ways to do them. an easy way to start would be by grabbing a small hand weight (3-5 pounds)
1)Sit straight on a bench or chair that doesn't prohibit movement. Place your feet firmly on the floor in front of you.
2)Put your hands together in front of you, and grasp the hand weight between both hands, and raise your arms above your head.
3)Slowly bend your elbows to a 90 degree angle, and return to starting position. Repeat 8- 15 times. (this is called a 'set')
as you get stronger in this area, you can add sets or weights or both to make it more challenging.
HTH!
Thank you.
you're very welcome!
let me know how they go. there are other ways to do this same exercise, but may be a little difficult to start out with. as you build strength and endurance these exercises will make your triceps look better, and firm the skin that is around it. aka chicken flab :)
I call em bye bye arms. I so agree with the arm lifts. I do that at the gym and I notice mine are tightening. I lift 10 lbs on both arms. Don't do it till you feel a burn too, that will make for sore arms in the morning. Make sure you stretch your arms after you workout. It can also tighten the females chest area too so it is a double winning excercise.
sharky.
so much good info have i read here since i joined 8)
those are very good ideas!
"Bye bye arms"?
I'm guessing because they keep jiggling after the good byes are said?
