I used the cabbage soup as a filler and appetite spoiler before every meal and lost 37 lbs in 12 weeks. This is not fast as it averages 2 lbs per week. I had amazing energy, was totally detoxed and lost allmy cellulite. I agree the tru Cabbage soup diet is extreme, but that is what it's meant for, a kick start, but you gain it back quick after that. I have managed to keep it off for 2 years now, only going back for a few days when the scale starting moving upwards again. Anyone wants more details on how I did it (and over Xmas no doubt!), please let me know, I ma passionate about the benefits of the soup. I call it magic!

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Do you have a special recipe for the soup?

The soup recipe that I found on-line (and was already posted in a thread) is very good. I just couldn't take eating as much of the soup as the diet recommends. By Day 3 or so, I was sick of the soup and by Day 4 I had to quit as the thought of eating more of that soup truly made me nauseous. However, I think eating it as you recommend, along with meals or as a pre-meal "snack" is a great idea.

Soup recipe: Chop up into small fine pieces the following: 4 onions, 4 tomatoes, 1 green pepper, 2 carrots, ½ bunch celery, ½ medium cabbage. Add about 3 liters of water, Add 3 cubes of beef or chicken stock, Simmer for ½ hours till soft and liquidize. You can also add curry, or any other spices you prefer. Make it interesting for yourself changing the flavour all the time so that you don’t get bored. Add salt and pepper to taste. I eat cereal for bf, soup and fruit at 10h00, soup at lunch together with a salad, soup and fruit at 15h00, soup and dinner consisting of veggies, meat. I don't eat ANY starch (except for some cereal and a cracker here and there) and no dairy, except for milk in my coffee. Basically, this is my menu and I mix and mtch. It is cheap and I don't ever crave or go hungry. I lost a lot of weight and kept it off. Breakfast: Grape Fruit or an Orange, Cereal (sugarless) like All Bran or Wheetbix or Oats (half cup - Skim milk + sweetener), or slice Brown Toast (no butter!) Coffee/tea Mid morning: 1 Cup Cabbage Soup, Coffee / Tea with and a fruitlike a green apple Lunch: Cabbage Soup, Tuna or Salmon or Cold Chicken Salad, Brown Bread (with Low Fat Cottage Cheese), 1 Orange - (not too sweet) or ¼ Melon or PAW-PAW, Tea / Coffee / Diet Coke / Tab Mid afternoon: Soup and a fruit, Tea / Coffee Dinner: Cabbage Soup, Spaghetti - Macaroni with LEAN Mince, Tomato & Onions, OR Chicken with ANY Vegetables, OR Steak (pack of cards size) with ANY Vegetables, OR Fish with ANY Vegetables, Diet Jelly / Green Apple / Tea / Coffee Around 21h00 (if you want!) Cabbage soup, Snack on this as much as you want - if you still have space! Green fresh salads, Cold tomatoes, Cucumbers, Asparagus, Gherkins, Carrots, Cabbage, Green Granny Smith Apples, Melon, Spanspek, Paw-Paw, diet cold drinks, ice water, Low Fat or Skim Milk Let me know if I can offer any further support, this is my passion!

Congrats to you on your weight loss.. That is wonderful! If it's working for you and you like it, I say stick with it. Not every diet is a good fit for every dieter. :)

You said you don't eat starch, but you list spaghetti and macaroni as your dinner meals and brown bread for lunch. :?: To me, that's too much soup. I know I'd go crazy having that much soup. However, I do accept that it is healthy and a great addition to a low-cal diet. If one can take eating that much of the cabbage soup, this sounds like a solid diet plan and better than what the original recommends.

Personnaly I don't eat the brown bread or the spagetti, but some people feel dizzy when you extract starch from their diets, that why I kept the original mealplan in. Just to keep you guys in the loop and maybe you won't believe me, but I have managed to loose 5lbs in the last 8 days eating this way, granted, I am not a water drinekr and only drink water when I diet, so obviously when I don't diet, I retain and when I do diet and drink water, I loose the water. I only have 3lbs in "real" weight to loose before next Friday (12th) ad not a single doubt that I won't make it.

wow thats great ! :D
