halloween is only about a month and a half away and i cant wait i love halloween. i just had to share that with everyone 8)
Do you dress up?
of course i dress up, infact this year i am being well kinda an updated gothic version of the bride of frankenstien and my boyfriend is being frankenstien
Do you still trick or treat? 8O
I haven't dressed up for Halloween in 20 years. Maybe I will this year.
no trick or treating too old for that
I like this time of the year quite a bit.
I like the leaves, the weather being nice and cool. I like the football and the back to school vibe of the Fall.
Nice and relaxing! And Halloween is always a really good holiday.
this halloween is going to awesome for me and here's y...
well i love the gothic look and stuff so in a way i always wanted a gothic wedding however my b/f likes halloween but isnt into anything gothic but my friend is throwing us a halloween engagement party so i kinda get the gothic wedding i want its gonna be great.
ok, so i am alittle wierd
Congrats on the engagement!
That party sounds like fun!
thanks i know its gonna be a ton of fun
one year for halloween ( a lonnnnnngggg time ago) I used some of that spray in hair color. I decided to go goth and dye my blonde hair black.
[b:5b531e2213]what a bad idea. [/b:5b531e2213]
it was "supposed" to "wash out"
it didn't.
after around 100 bucks at the salon, i emerged with "Billy Idol" hair. literally Billy Idol hair. short and white. at the time i was mortified. now i look back and laugh.. the recklessness of youth!!
rothflmao@Jolene. that's funny!!
One girl I went to school with dressed up a "greaser" and put Crisco in her hair to slick it back. It took a week and a half to get it out. Everyone made fun of her for weeks afterward..
oh my Jolene but thats the good thing about hair it grows back. i havent really had anything really bad happen except the year my brother stuck a carmel apple in my hair and my mom had to cut my hair to get it luckily it wasnt alot of hair and it didnt show much
hehe.. carmel gets messy.
I have never spray painted my hair since!!
it only takes once to learn
yeah this year i am using glue and to make my hair stand straight up and i hope it washes out i am told that it will just wash out
i would research that glue thing before i put it in my hair.
just a tip from someone who's been there and done that. lol!
i'm not scared its only hair it will grow back (i hope)
Just make sure the bottle doesn't have [b:86a24a0eb8]KRAZY [/b:86a24a0eb8]on it! :P
lol no, no krazy glue jus plain old white glue like what you used back in kindergarden
hehe.. halloween is my favorite holiday!
Hey, Fluffy, a better glue to use is the Elmer's clear blue gel glue. It doesn't show up white or look like you have dandruff. :) (It washes out, hehe.)
Halloween is my favorite holiday, ever. I can't wait until I'm rich so I can spend thousands of dollars on Halloween decorations... :):):)
I love the Fall. The colors are so pretty!
I think my favorite time of year - which also is often my busiest time of year - is from Oct. through late Dec. Oct., Nov. and Dec. all have a lot of similarities - especially from a child's (or holiday lover's) perspective. First, and most silly, they end in "ber". More importantly, they each have a pretty big holiday at the end of their respective months. In October, as a child, I loved trick-or-treating to get candy. However, what is better than candy? A few days off from school :!: which is what Thanksgiving gave us! :D But, what's better than candy or days off from school? Why not have BOTH and then throw in presents?!?! That's what the holiday season gave us. So, now, as an adult, I still remember this time fondly.
Of course, there's TONS of food during this time as well. For years now, I kept wanting to start my diet around October. The summer was over and I realized that yet again, I avoided true summer fun because I was embarrassed about this excess fat on me. So I would think about dieting. However, a quick look at the calendar revealed the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas combo and I knew there'd be lots and lots of food. So why diet? I felt I should just wait until the new year. But, of course... I never did diet come the new year - or if I did, it was only for a token week or two (barring my one successful diet in 1995).
So this year, I started my diet in August. By the time Halloween rolls around, I'll have been on my diet for 2.5 months. My hope is that it's enough time to resist the urge to wolf down half of the candy I buy for trick-or-treaters! LOL! By Thanksgiving, I'll have been dieting for nearly 3.5 months. So hopefully, I'll have it ingrained into my system not to overeat that day. And by Christmas, I'll have been dieting for 4.5 months and wanting to show off my new slimmer self to family. I'm really hoping that by that time, it'll be easy to resist overindulging on holiday treats and that great Chicago pizza (drool).
Still, I just so love the season... I've been buying more Xmas decorations lately... maybe I'll look around for more Halloween ones.
That's a good point about "missing out on summer fun". The summer is the worst time to be battling a weight problem. It should be a time of going outdoors and having fun.
hey kitty7kotka thanks for the tip nothing worse than a monster with dandruff 8)
Use a paste rather than a genuine glue fluffy, then a couple of good washes and it will be out, Superglue will give a more permanant style ...
Went to a wedding recently at which the wedding party was dressed in Medaevil Costume .. knights, lords, ladies and all that  Was Fun
Good Goth looks great, poor goth just looks shabby - in my opinion
Wish you well for the future
Regards
Bob
hmmm never thought of paste but wouldnt that flake off and look bad???
Fluffy,
Don't use the paste, it flakes after a while. Trust me on the gel glue :) I used it for years. :)
ok kitty i will try the elmers glue
Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in,
YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO TRICK OR TREAT!!!!
This will be my 20th time trick or treating in the same amount of years. I always take my little cousins or my niece so it doesn't look too weird. It is so much fun, and people love it cuz us older ones are the only ones who say trick or treat anymore! Young kids are so lazy they don't say it anymore. lol

i suppose yer never too old to trick or treat however its the candy you get from trick or treating that i am too old for well not to old but i just shouldnt eat it so i dont wanna tempt myself

I used to love taking my sister and younger cousins trick-or-treating years ago, but they've all grown up and there are no children at the good trick-or-treating age right now in my life.
However, I still love decorating, handing out candy and even going to parties. I had a "generic" costume for years - so this year I finally bought a "real" costume. I may or may not use it this year (my hope is too use it) but I'm just glad I have a cool costume for a change. ;)
In terms of candy - I'm avoiding that, for now. The stores have had Halloween decorations up since early September. This is getting worse than Christmas! And I refuse to buy Halloween candy now for fear of eating it myself! I've done this in past years. I think I'll wait as long as I can - not so long that I pay too much for the candy, but not so early that I'll eat it myself.
this year i am making my costume i am being the bride of frankinstien so far all i have is a sewing maching some fabric and a white tank dress but soon it will be an awesome costume
hi:) i have a 14month old dauighter who im taking for her first trick or treating this halloween :) cant wait ! and yes im gonna dress up!! hehe the bonus i get some of the candy~ :)
Trick or treating with your daughter sounds like a lot of fun!
I love October too. I wanted to get married in October, but we just couldn't wait :D Too excited to just get married!
I'm not going to hand out candy this year. I won't buy it and put it in the house. I'm going to hand out something lame like raisins or something I don't like (is there a candy I don't like...I'll have to think hard about that one). That way, I'm not tempted to eat it all before it gets passed out.
Congrats on the marriage, lambchop!
I cracked open the Halloween decorations this past weekend and put up a few token ones around the house. These are the ones only I can see. As soon as Oct. 1st hits (tomorrow!), I consider it acceptable to decorate for Halloween.
I'm thinking of having a Halloween party this year. I have a costume all set. As I've been dieting so well, I am starting to lose my "fear" of buying candy early (for trick-or-treaters or the party) and eating it. I think I'll do just fine on my diet. Still, I'll wait a few weeks to get candy to avoid temptation. ;)
hallloween parties are soooo much fun i am having well my best friend is throwing me one this year
Halloween is wonderful time of the year. I have never hosted a party though. The one I went to last year our hosts got into a giant fight in front of everyone.
I'm not planning on going to any parties this year.
i cant wait tomarrow is halloween
it is the best time of the year
Glad to hear that you are looking forward to it!
Be safe and don't eat too much Halloween candy!
Couldn't ask for better weather than this year in the midwest. It was 70 degrees today.
i had one uneventful halloween.
came home from work around 8:30 pm and fell asleep.
my god am i old :)
Hee hee. I know I'm not that old (25), but I went to hang out at my friend's house for Halloween and we all groaned about it. We finally stopped ourselves when we realized we had been talking about our 401K plans for about a half an hour. Then everyone drank more to forget about it  We felt really old.
