Hello,
I'm new to these boards. I am a 22 year old college student, also work at a law office but have a semi active lifestyle. However I do spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or sitting at school. I go for a run or walk about 2-3 times a week. I am 5'7 about 160 with an athletic type build. I have been struggling for the past few months to shed some pounds and really thin out. I am just sick of the chunky look I have going right now. Besides a routine of working out and exercise can anyone recommend vitamins, pills, supplements or any foods to help aid me in a fast weight loss?
Please let me know I am open to all suggestions.

I'm not sure how much you want ot lose right now, but this will down you ten pounds fast..
A fasting period of two to three days will jump start a metabolism slowed down, while fasting, try to drink 64+oz of water minimum..Every time a hunger pain hits , down a full glass of water with NO ice, A straw really helps you get into the waer guzzling habit.... Too drastic? Stick to a liquid only diet, soups, low cal juices and a ton a water! Water is the key..
Cut back on the exercise while trying to lose, it makes the body store fat as it believes it is under "stress". Since your already athletic, just do some quick spot toning muscle reps lying on the floor or while sitting at your desk.

Ok first why can I not have ice witht he water? What would be an ideal diet to keep up after the fasting period? I want to loose about 50lbs. And where do you buy the Chromium Picolinate and what exactly will it do for me?

Chromium Picolinate is avail at any store that carries vitamins etc.. Really cheap.. $5.00 a bottle average, it helps control cravings for sweets, and keeps you from getting the "sicky" feeling when dieting by regulating your blood sugar levels.
After a FAST I suggest a 1,000-1200 cal diet. Your body needs to burn 3500 cals to lose a pound of fat.. The average female requires 2,000 cals a day for maintainence. So if you do the math you can figure out what you need to take in to lose weight. Roughly, you wil losel a pound every 3 days on a 1000 cal diet. 1/3 pound a day. If you stall, cut back to 750 the next day and increase your water intake.
Really watch your salt and sodium intake as well. No refined sugars, and avoid white bread unless its the 40 cal diet bread etc..It's available in the regular bread isle in the stores..
"Tricking" your body does well, one day liquids only(soups/juices equaling 1000cals... the next day eat some fiber like.. eat brown rice, baked potato w/ "I can't believe its not butter Spray" its great and has 0 cals! and Mrs Dash for seasoning and fresh fruits/veg equaling 1000 cals. Again a min. of 64 oz of water a day, not just liquids like diet colas etc.. but good old H2O.
Write down everything you eat and drink to help keep a tally, write your weight down daily on a calendar.
Weigh yourself daily, this is important.. :)

Glad to help, I went from a 16 to a size 3 in 6 months and you can to using these methods. I'm right with you now after my baby, I need to lose 70 pounds right now! We can do it..
